Movie lovers rejoice, Tinseltown will be opening their doors soon!

If we were to write about the things we severely miss these days, I have no doubt that many of us would include a trip to the movies high on this list. Just five months ago it would have been unthinkable that life for all of us would be changed so radically, so soon. That's exactly what happened though when COVID-19 showed up and closed down everything.

Slowly but surely, things have begun to open back up while others, unfortunately, remain closed. Bars, for instance, will remain closed in our state for the foreseeable future, while restaurants and casinos have their doors wide-open.

One type of business that so many of us have missed, which have been closed with a few exceptions in our area, are movie theaters.

For me personally, I absolutely took movie theaters for granted. The girls and I would go occasionally, and every time we went, it was an absolute blast. I can say wholeheartedly that once our theaters open up and begin showing new movies, my daughters and I will be first in line.

Luckily, if you're like me and you've been patiently (or impatiently) awaiting the reopening of our local theaters, your wait is almost over! Today, Tinseltown in Shreveport announced they'll be reopening to the public next week! Friday, August 14th, Cinemark will be reopening select theaters across the country, including our own on Millicent Way in Shreveport. For the reopening, they'll be showing "Comeback Classic" movies at a ridiculously great price. Tickets to the movies will cost adults only $5 or children $3.

You can also rent a full theater for 20 guests to view a classic film together for just $99.
