It was only last week we learned that Abbi and Ilana’s Broad City return was delayed even further to September, and it seems the boys of South Park followed suit. The twenty-first (!) season will wait the better part of a month, premiering in September instead.

Where recently Comedy Central revealed that Broad City Season 4 moved from its August 23 premiere date to a more fall-friendly September 13, the network now confirms that South Park will also make the move to September. No explicit reason was given for the change, though Broad City’s fourth season move certainly raised questions whether its Wednesday companion would follow.

And while Trey Parker and Matt Stone write notoriously close to the airdate, we know South Park Season 21 wanted to get back to basics with less emphasis on political commentary, especially at the rate news cycles change these days. South Park is also renewed through 2019, lest you wonder.

Stay tuned for more on South Park Season 21 as we get closer to the September premiere.
