Imagine casually scrolling on eBay and coming across a real script for Star Wars: The Rise of SkywalkerAccording to J.J. Abrams in a new interview with Good Morning America, this was a reality for a short period of time. Disney and Lucasfilm work very hard to keep their projects under wraps — only a handful of scripts for Skywalker were printed on "crazy, uncopyable paper". But a bizarre turn of events led to one of them appearing on the online marketplace, revealed by Abrams around the 2:50 mark:

Abrams explains that one of the actors (he won't name which one, although he wants to) left the script under their bed during filming. It was discovered by someone cleaning the room and given to someone else who then listed it on eBay. Luckily, a Disney employee stumbled upon the auction item and knew something was up. Abrams assures that "they got it back before it sold." He continues with the confirmation that Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker was completed on Sunday, following some minor tune ups and tweaks. "It's amazing how much people read into those small details," Abrams remarks. "You want to make sure the details have meaning and matter because you know that they're gonna be scrutinized like crazy."

This is good news for Star Wars fans, who can be assured there won't be any spoilers leaked before the movie comes out December 20th. Like the Force, an official Star Wars script shouldn't be placed in the wrong hands.
