Statewide Burn Ban Update

A statewide burn ban is still in affect at this time.  The statewide burn ban is issued by the Commissioner of Agriculture and State Fire Marshal’s Office. Bossier Parish is in constant contact with the Department of Agriculture and the State Fire Marshal’s Office regarding burn bans.  The State Fire Marshal’s Office will be requesting information from Parish Fire Chiefs for each fire district throughout Louisiana to determine if a statewide burn ban is necessary at this time, and that information should be provided by the end of this week. 

A parish burn ban is determined by the fire districts in each parish, and the public will be advised of any changes in the current statewide burn ban, and of any parish burn bans.
