ABC reports that a UK based study shows that dogs might become "more anxious and possibly suffer from depression " when their owners use their phones around them. Everyone knows that dogs are always paying attention to their owners because they just want to make us happy. They read our body language and when we look at our phones especially smartphones we tend to look disinterested which effects their psyche.

Even if we are using the phone to take their picture to post on social media to tell our friends and family how much we love them all your dog sees is you ignoring them. This is just another reason for us to put down our phones and pay attention to those around us. Plus let's face it your dog is cute enough there's no reason to keep taking selfies just to use that snap chat filter.

No word yet how smartphones effect your cat... But lets face it they're probably to busy plotting their takeover to notice you on your phone.
