Suspect Identified in Local Bank Robbery

Shreveport police detectives have identified the man wanted for robbing a local bank Monday afternoon.

The man walked into Capital One in the 4800 block of Line Avenue and handed a teller a note demanding money. He was caught on surveillance video, and photos were released by Shreveport police.

Based on information from a Crime Stoppers tip, authorities have named 49-year-old John Birdsong, Jr., of Shreveport as the bandit. Investigators have a warrant charging him with one count of first-degree robbery.
