A man suspected of breaking into cars in East Shreveport is locked up today.

17-year-old  Lawrence Dominique of the 10000 block of Carlsbad Drive is accused in a series of car break-ins.

On July 3rd, officers responded to calls about several vehicle burglaries in the Broadmoor Neighborhood. Investigators were able to collect surveillance video from several of the burglaries and some of that video was released to the public. On July 7, 2018, investigators received a tip from Shreveport Caddo Crime Stoppers that catapulted their investigation. Using information received from the tip and other investigative resources detectives believe one of the subjects responsible for the burglaries to be 17-year-old Lawrence Dominique, of the 10000 block of Carlsbad Drive. A warrant was procured for his arrest charging him with two counts of Simple Burglary. Bond was set at $7,500.00. After securing the warrant, detectives continued to collect video and other evidence and interview witnesses, which led them to accuse him in multiple other burglaries.

On July 12, 2018, Dominique surrendered himself to investigators at the Shreveport Police Complex. Following interviews Dominique was charged with five counts of Simple Burglary, one count of Attempted Simple Burglary, one count of Principle to Simple Burglary, three counts of Simple Burglary of an Inhabited Dwelling, one count of Auto Theft, and his outstanding warrants. More charges are expected. Dominique was booked into the Shreveport City Jail.
