Storms yesterday afternoon and Sunday night into the wee hours of Monday morning have once again reeked havoc on the Ark-La-Tex with high winds and damaging lightning.

Not only have these storms caused the evacuation of DiamondJacks Casino due to damage of the main boarding ramp, but again felled trees from the high winds have brought on downed power lines.

At this writing at 4:45 am on Monday, June 24, 2019, the Swepco web site is showing that 25,410 customers are currently without power. Looks like the affected area extends all the way from Ashdown, Arkansas to just north of Alexandria, Louisiana, with some of the highest outages being reported in Caddo and Bossier parishes.

To report an outage of your own or to check the status of your current outage, just log on to SWEPCO.com.
