This is a big week in my family as my son will graduate from Marine Basic Training on Friday in Parris Island, South Carolina. Here are photos of the meanest looking Drill Instructors I could find. JW has endured 13 weeks of grueling training...

My son is now in the homestretch of his Marine basic training at Parris Island, South Carolina. He sends thanks to all of my friends and listeners who have kept him in your prayers these past couple of months.

I've been getting some great letters from my son over the past few days. In his latest letter he talks about the "infamous obstacles".

My son is in his 3rd week of Marine Basic Training and I could tell from his letters that he loves to hear about what's happening back home. I now have his full address and would love to send letters to him from you. I have gotten so many great messages for my son who is at Marine Basic Training in Parris Island, South Carolina. I did get connected with a great parent website. He's about to wrap up week 2 and I will be sending him your messages.

My son has been off to Marine boot camp for 10 days. It does get easier with each passing day, but it's still so tough to wonder what's going on in his life. I have had no contact with him since I gave him a big hug at the airport on Monday of last week ...

My son has been gone for 2 days now and I have already written him a couple of letters. I can't mail them because I don't have his full address yet. That bothers me. I'm told I should be getting a full packet from my son within the next week ...

My eyes welled up as I saw him sitting with some new buddies at Shreveport Regional Airport. JW was more concerned about me at that point (he hates to see me cry). Then we just talked.

My 18-year-old son is off to college this weekend and I found this video on youtube and thought I would share it with you.

I had a little road trip to Houston over the weekend since my son was listed on the roster for 3 of 4 games for the Dynamo Academy team.

Perhaps you don't know this yet, but my oldest son is quite the soccer player.  He has moved to Houston and is training with the Houston Dynamo Academy team.  Now he has a huge weekend on the way.
