Louisiana meteorologists have been predicting that potentially flooding rains this week and that forecast has materialized as some areas were drenched.
According to reports, and some pretty dramatic videos, a pipe burst on the third floor of Patrick F. Taylor Hall on campus this afternoon, causing water to cascade down into the first and second levels.
The National Weather Service is warning that even as far north as we are in the Shreveport/Bossier area, we will still see the effects of Tropical Storm Nicholas.
Although this a naturally occurring phenomenon, their recent study projects "every U.S. coast will experience rapidly increasing high-tide floods" as a result.
