Halloween Costumes

We've all been there -- just a couple hours before you have to head out to a Halloween party, and you haven't had the time or money to put together a decent costume. Then suddenly, a flash of inspiration zaps you or one of your buddies -- but all too often, the final product is just sad at best, or lands you in the slammer.

There's one thing we know for sure about little kids-- they can make practically anything seem adorable. Scrunched-up, twisted sour faces? Check. A boppin' on a bed rendition of Michael Jackson's 'Thriller'? You betcha! Although we're a little dumbfounded as to how this "everything is ridiculously adorable" thing actually happens, we can't help but be sucked into the cuteness every darn

With Halloween just a few weeks away and our obsession with dressed-up animals still going strong, we have been led into the most wonderful of all Tumblr lands with our latest discovery.

Carter has spina bifida, a birth defect which affects the spinal canal. Because of his condition, the youngster uses a wheelchair. Being stuck in a chair is obviously going to be tough on a kid. However, last Halloween Carter's dad used his son's wheels to their advantage in crafting a pretty awesome costume.

The folks at ‘Today’ offered up a gallery of spectacularly bad Halloween photos culled from the Awkward Family Photos website. There’s nothing wrong with homemade Halloween costumes per se, but these are simply unforgivable (and unintentionally scary).

While pets are usually ambivalent about the Halloween costumes their owners dress them in, Tangent the chihuahua seems pretty pleased with the added firepower of his spiffy tank get up. The tank, which took first prize at the local Petsmart’s Halloween contest, features a gun that lights up and makes shooting sounds when Tangent’s owner pulls a trigger on her side of the leash.
