Thanks to the generosity of Chuck Wagon Crawfish, Bristol's Babies has been able to help even more pets in need!

Each week, Bristol's Babies shines the spotlight on adoptable pets right here in northwest Louisiana and with your help, we hope to eventually find them all homes!

The fine people at Chuck Wagon Crawfish feel the same, and that's why they've donated 10% of their proceeds from the week leading up to Easter to Bristol's Babies to help support local rescues in honor of their late beloved canine companion, Miss Tillie. Here's how Miss Shirley described their sweet Tillie:

Tillie was a 12-year-old 6lb. Yorkie.  She loved to shop with me “in my purse”.  She traveled with us in a bed on the front console so she could see everything that was going on.  We would tell her to hold on and she would put a paw on your arm for balance.  She was a seasoned traveler.  She didn’t mind staying in the hotel room while we went out, because she always knew we would bring her back a “treat”.  After that first treat, she knew it was in my purse.  Immediately, when we returned, she was head first in the purse.  She was a prankster also.  If she got impatient with me she would grab my pants leg and that little 6 lb body would do its best to stop me.  One of her favorite things to do was play with her food.  She would sling it and then hunt it.  That was also a hint to come play.  Then we would do tricks.  She was so smart.  I am a little prejudiced though.  I  guess my most favorite thing was how much she exuded love.  There was no doubt that she loved us very much.  I looked forward to coming in and checking on her and see that sweet little face glowing.  I really miss that.  If you have ever been loved by a dog you know what I'm talking about.  At bedtime, she would sleep on my pillow on my head.  The last thing she would do is kiss me goodnight.  We lost her 2 years ago to kidney failure.

Our goal in having this recognition time is to promote adoption and help local rescuers.  They do such a wonderful thing and have such big hearts and we can't thank them enough.  10% of our sales for next week will be donated to Bristol's Babies in our appreciation for their work.  Also to remember our precious “Tillie” for all the joy she brought to our lives.

So how much is going to the help pets in need in northwest Louisiana thanks to Chuck Wagon's donation? $2,500!!! Thank you so much for your generosity and to everyone made a special trip to Chuck Wagon Crawfish to eat! Keep pinching those tails with Chuck Wagon, because they've clearly got a heart for the furbabies!

Here's how we've distributed the funds so far:
$500 to Louisiana Baby Mommas. If you aren't familiar with LA Baby Mommas, the rescue is dedicated to saving the lives of puppies and pregnant dogs.
$500 to the Krewe of Barkus and Meoux who promote responsible pet ownership and support our area fur babies through their spay and neuter program, military working dog program, feral cat program, support of local rescues and through emergency vet assistance grants.

And now, $1,500 to Hero Horse Therapeutic Riding Center. Hero Horse is a new non-profit coming to the area that will not only help people heal through Equine Assisted Activities and Therapy. They will also work to rescue unwanted horses in our area and help to train them to become excellent therapists all on their own!
