The Coolest Car I Ever Owned: 1974 MGB GT

It was 1978, I'd just gotten divorced and I wanted a cool car. And boy, did I find one: A 1974 MGB GT!

When it came to cars, I'd always been a bit of an Anglophile. In fact, I'd owned a pair of MGs before, a 1976 B Roadster and a '59 MGA. But this one, oh, this was my 'single man's' car! And what a beauty it was! The owner wanted $3,500. But I caught him on a good day and I drove it away for $3K...and drove it for more than six years.

The one in the video is yellow, mine was steel gray. But take a look and you'll see why the 1974 MGB GT was 'the coolest car I ever owned'.
