Last night there was a shooting at a nightclub 40 miles west of LA where a gunman shot and killed at least 12 people and wounded around 12 more. In the next few days there'll be a lot of talk about the killer and possible motives but we feel it's important to shine a spotlight on the hero's as well. The gunman we can learn from but the hero's are the ones we should remember their names!

Ventura County officer Sgt. Ron Helus was one of the 12 people who lost their lives in the tragic events lat night. Sgt Helus was one of the first to respond to the scene and rushed inside to help save as many from the still active shooter as possible. Unfortunately according to NBC News he was hit multiple times and later died leaving behind a wife and son.

Sgt. Ron Helus is a 29-year veteran of the department will be remembered as a true hero for his actions in the line of duty!
