Geek'd Con, Shreveport's comic con, unfortunately had to miss the 2020 show due to the COVID pandemic restrictions around the state. But the show is back on for 2021! The show's return will be August 13th-15th at the Shreveport Convention Center.

Before the pandemic, Geek'd Con had become one of the biggest pop culture events in the region. With guests like Michael Rooker, LeVar Burton, Elvira, Peter Mayhew, Chris Sarandon, and more.

This is the way. For 2021, Geek'd Con welcomes The Armorer, Emily Swallow to Shreveport.

Emily is an award-winning actress, singer, and voiceover artist known best known as The Darkness on SUPERNATURAL, Agent Fischer on THE MENTALIST, Lisa Tepes in Netflix's animated CASTLEVANIA and is the Armorer on the Disney+ series The MANDALORIAN.

Emily's portrayal of The Armorer in The Mandalorian has been celebrated by fans and critics since the first episode of the show. With high praise coming in across the board, with journalists calling the character one of the "most interesting", and "strongest" characters in the show.

In fact, Screen Rant named The Armorer as the 5th best Mandalorian of all time, behind only Boba Fett, Jango Fett, Bo-Katan, and Din Djarin (The Mandalorian).

Her line, "This is the way" became the unofficial tagline of the show to fans. Becoming a major part of promotional material, marketing, and online memes.

Emily grew up in Jacksonville, Florida, earned a BA in Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Virginia and moved to New York to earn her MFA in Acting from NYU's prestigious Graduate Acting Program.

Not only has she found her place in a galaxy far, far away, Emily continues to act on stage when she has time and has starred opposite Mark Rylance in Louis Jenkins' play Nice Fish at the Guthrie Theatre, in High Fidelity on Broadway and opposite Tom Hanks in the Shakespeare Center Los Angeles production of Henry IV Parts 1&2. She was part of the LA Drama Critics' Circle Award-Winning 2016 production of Disgraced at the Mark Taper Forum in LA.
