Minden Police Posted This Message:

"Tonight a threat of a gun created a panic at the Minden High School football scrimmage against Benton. The panic caused the stadium to empty out and school authorities canceled the game."
Minden Police officers were on the scene checking out concerns that 2 students reportedly had guns at the game. Those two students were approached and no guns were found.
No shots were fired around the stadium. But this threat forced all of the players to lay on the ground and fans fled out of the stadium. Minden PD believes this incident escalated after some sort of verbal altercation in the stands. No one was hurt and the game was canceled

One parent of a Benton football player posted this message about what happened during the game:

People on the home side starting running out of the stands because a gang member shouted he had a gun! Everyone including the players hit the ground for about 5 minutes as multiple police arrived. The cops escorted the boys off the field with AR15s.
There's no indication if this incident relates back to school activity, but several parents have reported that Minden High School was locked down on Friday because of fighting.
