Tom Hanks' preferred morning brew? A full-bodied blend of truth and justice.

Hanks, an outspoken critic of President Donald Trump, has thrown his support behind the American press with a contribution in the form of an espresso machine. This morning (March 2), NBC News national correspondent Peter Alexander tweeted that Trump had supplied the White House Press Corps with a brand new appliance with a note that read "Keep up the good fight for truth, justice and the American way...especially for the truth part."

Nice!

And, according to ABC Newsit's not the first time Hanks has sent White House reporters top-line java (though the latest model is the nicest yet, they've said). Hanks sent an espresso machine to the same group in 2004 — again, with a note he'd written on a typewriter — and another in 2010 when it looked like the office needed a coffee-upgrade.

Hanks has routinely spoken out against Trump for his maliciousness, and took particular issue with Trump's "locker room talk" scandal in which Trump alluded to his own engineering of sexual assault on women. Hanks also told The Press Association in 2016 that Trump was woefully unprepared for the role as President.

“It’s kind of like if you have a horrible, painful tooth, and you need a root canal. Who are you going to see?" Hanks said. "A guy who says, ‘Oh, I think I can figure that out, how to do a root canal for you. Lay down.' Or are you going to see somebody who’s done 6,000 of them, has a degree on the wall and has a great history and expertise when it comes down to it?"
