Two $50,000 Powerball Winners Sold In Louisiana

Who needs the "Luck of the Irish" when you've got the "Lucky of the Cajuns" working for you? Last night's Powerball drawing produced two $50,000 winning tickets that were sold in the state of Louisiana.

There was no big winner in the March 6th drawing so the jackpot is getting to the point where even the casual lottery player will begin to pay attention. In fact, the next time the ping pong balls drop on Saturday night, the Powerball jackpot will be an estimated $414 million. That's almost half a billion dollars Y'all.

The winning numbers from March 5, 2019, were:

The $50,000 winners each matched four of the five white ball numbers and the Powerball. Neither ticket purchaser opted for the Power Play option in the game.

The winning tickets were sold in Slidell at the Racetrac Convenience Store on Gause Boulevard and The Corner Market on Airline Highway in Destrehan. This makes the second Wednesday in a row that Louisiana has had a big money Powerball winner. Last Wednesday a ticket worth $250,000 was sold in Port Allen.

So as you can see we in Louisiana are lucky in a lot of different ways. Not only for having the best joie de vivre anywhere in the world but we play that darned ol' lottery pretty well too.
