Two men from Wisconsin were arrested in Marshall, Texas earlier this week for the crime of having money.  Jordan Lee Howard and Mickaial Sean Batchelor (both 27 years old) from Milwaukee were pulled over just before 4 p.m. on Tuesday for an obscured license plate.  Marshall police became suspicious when the two had conflicting stories - that led them to ask for consent to search the vehicle.  Officers found a backpack stuffed full of cash in the hatch area of the car.

According to KLTV, much of the cash was bundled in random denominations and bound by rubber bands.  An arrest affidavit obtained by KLTV states that the officers believe the men are involved in selling drugs.  Both Jordan Howard and Mickaial Batchelor were arrested on the spot and are being held on $200,000 bonds.

While it is not against the law to transport cash, if discovered - in most states police can demand proof that the money was not acquired illegally.
