USAA Working to Cover Pay Delayed by Government Shutdown
For those men and women whose paycheck will be delayed during this shutdown, USAA has your back.
Once again our government has shut down. I sometimes relate this to a fight among parents. Both wholeheartedly believe that what they are doing is right and refuse to back down. However, the ones who suffer are the kids... a.k.a. us. Maybe that's not the best analogy, but the fact that the American people are sacrificing due to this shutdown remains.
Like our military.
Many members of our armed forces will not be paid as long as thei government cannot come to an agreement. Their paycheck will be delayed. I think we can all agree that this is less than ideal. However, USAA is looking to take care of those military members.
USAA recently announced that they will be doing what they can to cover as many service men and women as possible. Right off the bat they made it very clear that every situation will be different and that they will not be able to cover everyone, but they are prepared to do what they can, according to their website.
We are prepared to offer a no-interest payroll advance loan to our military members in the even of a protracted shutdown that disrupts military pay on Feb. 1.
The announcement came before the official shutdown and USAA said they would email eligible members directly with information on how to sign up. Even if it is just a small handful of people that they can help, this is huge. Talk about customer service!
