To be clear, we will not be sharing the video or any still images of the incident that are currently circulating around social media and elsewhere online. Initially spotted on Twitter, the person responsible for posting it treated it as a joke and has refused numerous requests from other Twitter users to delete it. We will not be sharing that person's username, either.

From initial reports, the woman suffered several injuries, but survived and is in stable condition. We don't have any additional details at this time.

It is unclear whether or not this was an attempted suicide or something else, but let's be real here. Nothing about this is funny or worth exploiting for your fifteen minutes of social media fame. Anyone and everyone involved in filming this and uploading it to social media, along with those who are posting mocking comments and sharing it should be ashamed of themselves. If you see someone in a similar situation, try being a decent human being by putting your phone down and trying to help them.

If you are suffering from suicidal thoughts, please call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255. You're not alone.
