VIVA! el CINCO DE MAYO!!!

Ah, Cinco De Mayo is here! A day we celebrate... Hmmm... What?

Despite what a co-worker claims, I know that Cinco De Mayo does not celebrate that "It's Thursday!"

OK then, what exactly is it all about? It's not all about the food and drinks, is it?

Doing a little digging, I found out a few facts about Cinco...

It's not like our Fourth Of July since the Mexican Indepence Day isn't until September 16th.

It's not even just a Mexican day. In fact, they celebrate it in parts of the Mediterranean as well. Or, at least, that's what Wikipedia says!

There is a Cinco De Mayo Chihuahua race in Arizona!

And, it's actually a more popular celebration here in the U.S. than it is in Mexico! It's mainly the southern parts of Mexico, near Puebla, that celebrate.

And now, if you'll excuse me, I think I earned a 'rita doing my research! El Chico's anyone?
