It's not often you get to see a bridge get blown up, but it happened in Arkansas this week.

The 88 year old White River Bridge in Clarendon, Arkansas was demolished on Tuesday. Spectators stood at a safe distance of 1500 feet. The explosion occured betweem 6:30am and 7:00am.

Here's video from Mark Maness and William Wofford.

Here's another look at the demolition:

Watching this video only makes me think about the Jimmie Davis Bridge. The long term plan is to build a new bridge over the Red River. How cool would it be to blow up the Jimmie Davis Bridge? Would that kind of demolition ever get approved in Louisiana? Who would clean up the mess in the Red River after the demolition?

Don't think that would ever get the ok in Louisiana.
