Believe it or not, there is a connection between these two.

It's always fascinating to me to find out where artists find inspiration and write their songs. The Weeknd has an unusual place were he has written some of our favorites.

The bedroom of Marilyn Monroe.

In a recent interview, the Canadian singer says he worked on his album Beauty Behind the Madness with Max Martin. So does this get The Weeknd into Marilyn's bedroom (no pun intended)? Well, Max's studio used to be Marilyn's old house and The Weeknd came up with a song called "In the Night" in the room where she continuously got her beauty rest.

This was the time when she was married to Jo DiMaggio, so The Weeknd said the thought of Joe being in the room too was kind of a mood killer.

In the interview, The Weeknd also talked about staying up all night long writing a song with Ed Sheeran. That same night Ed challenged Waka Flocka to a freestyle rap battle. The track the two came up with is called "Dark Times."

Beauty Behind the Madness comes out August 28.
