What’s Your Favorite Restaurant in Shreveport/Bossier City?
The question that I always ask and never lets me down "Where's your favorite place to eat around here?" I know I can't be the only one around here that loves to try out new places! When you suggest a place to eat, it may take me a few weeks stop by for lunch or dinner, but I find any excuse to try a new place out.
I kept hearing about Tacomania. I was skeptical when someone mentioned it was amazing Authentic Mexican food. I am used to showing up at a new place and realizing that Tex-Mex and Authentic Mexican means the same thing to a lot of people. Thankfully, I made the short drive anyway. The chips and salsa are enough to keep you coming back. If you're an adventurous one with a need for spice they have a cool set up where you can walk up and pick out a unique spicy salsa from a salsa bar. I tried 3 different salsas and all three were amazing. I had heard about the queso, so I had to order it, it was amazing! It had slivers of roasted jalapeños and fresh diced tomatoes which made for one of the best appetizer's ever. I went all out, I figured I could test the authenticity of the place by ordering the Mole (pronounced Mole-Lay). The word Mole is an ancient word in Spanish for mix, and the sauce is a perfect mix of chili peppers, spices, nuts, and a little chocolate, it's like a Mexican gravy. The Mole dish at Tacomania with chicken and rice and beans did not disappoint. It is the best I have had since trying some Mole straight from Puebla, Mexico. I couldn't get Tacomania out of my mind, so I went back a couple of days later. It's safe to say, with your help I found my new favorite Mexican Restaurant.
