Will State Fair of Louisiana Have Bizarre Foods Like Texas Did?
The State Fair of Louisiana opens Thursday and runs through November 12th. I was wondering if we will have some of the same bizarre food options that you could find at the Texas Fair.
The Texas State Fair just wrapped up its 3 week run and visitors got a chance to taste a variety of new foods.
One of the most bizarre has to be deep fried Chicken Noodle Soup on a stick. The soup is rolled in a batter, deep fried and served up on a stick. You also get a side of crackers.
You could also wash this down with and Oreo beer and grab a Tamale donut for dessert.
Another item on the list of bizarre foods at the Texas State Fair has to be Deep Fried Froot Loops. This classic cereal gets quite a twist. The Froot Loops are folded into whipped marshmallow and then dipped in a creamy batter. After that, they go into the frier and they are topped with powdered sugar.
At the Louisiana State Fair, you will find the standard turkey legs, funnel cakes and corn dogs, but you will also be able to feast on things like called Poutine (Poutine is a Québécois dish originally made with French fries and cheese curds topped with a brown gravy.
You will also find deep fried bacon on a stick, chocolate dipped bacon on a stick and bacon wrapped sausage on a stick
Another booth will be selling deep fried bread pudding and deep fried pecan pies
