Woman Named Who Was Fatally Struck on Southern Loop

Late yesterday evening, Monday, October 7, just before 10:30 pm, a pedestrian was mortally injured by a vehicle on Southern Loop.  That victim has just been named by the Caddo Parish Coroner's office.

Shatira Caldwell, 33, of Caddo Parish, was injured just before 10:30 p.m. in the 2100 block of Southern Loop near Wallace Lake Road. She was transported to Ochsner LSU Health hospital where she died at 4:09 a.m. Tuesday, October 8, 2019.

Ms. Caldwell was positively identified through fingerprint comparison. An autopsy has been ordered at Ochsner LSU Health hospital.

This incident remains under investigation by the Caddo Parish Sheriff's office.
