10 Things I Was Surprised to Learn About Shreveport

I hope you don't disown me when you read this, but:  I am not originally from the Shreveport Bossier area.  My family and I moved here a little over 3 years ago from Texas, and we absolutely love it!  The crazy thing is, I grew up a little over an hour from here - but the differences between the Shreveport / Bossier City area are amazingly huge.  To be honest, I've made the trek to Ratchet City numerous times as a visitor from the great state/country of Texas.  Living here, however is a completely  different ballgame.

Before I start, just know - this is my list.  Maybe these things aren't surprising to you, but they sure did catch me off guard.  Remember, I was coming from Gladewater, Texas (a little town just outside of Longview, go Bears) - which is only about an hour and fifteen minutes away from Shreveport.  If you're not familiar with using time as a geographical mesurement, that's a little over 85 miles away.
