$250,000 Powerball Winner Sold In Louisiana

Louisiana's luck with big money wins in the Powerball and the Mega Millions multi-state lottery games has continued this week. In last night's Powerball drawing there were two big money tickets sold in the state. One of those tickets is worth $50,000 and the other is worth a whopping $250,000.

Let's get you the particulars first. There was no big jackpot winner in last night's Powerball drawing so by Saturday it is estimated the amount a single ticket holder could win will be $348 million. Here are the numbers from last night ( February 27, 2019).

In the case of both winning tickets from last night the players matched four of the five white ball numbers and the Powerball. The reason one win is $50,000 and the other is $250,000? One of the players opted to pay a little extra for the Powerplay feature in the game and in this case, that means five times the winning amount of $50,000.

The $250,000 winner was purchased just down the road from Lafayette in Port Allen at the 415 South Truck Stop on South Lobdell Highway. The $50,000 winner was purchased at Pilot #1105 on Highway 29 in Bunkie.

Up next for lottery players is the Mega Millions drawing on Friday night. The jackpot in that game will have grown to $267 million by the time the ping pong balls drop just before 10 pm on Friday evening.
