$550,000 Louisiana Lotto Winner Wastes No Time Claiming Prize

Saturday night's $550,000 winning Louisiana Lotto ticket was sold at the Circle K on Kings Highway near I-49 in Shreveport and the winner wasted no time claiming their money!

While I still can't imagine waking up Sunday morning and checking my numbers to find out that I had won $550,000, that's exactly what happened to winner Eddie Jelks, who traveled to the Louisiana Lottery offices in Baton Rouge Monday to claim his prize.

Like Eddie, if I won, I'm pretty sure I'd make tracks to BR to get my money. I did a little hunting online and couldn't find a social media profile that I could definitively pin down as belonging to Eddie Jelks the lottery winner, so I guess we'll have to wait for him to tell us publicly how he plans to spend the money. Here's to you Eddie! I sure hope you're able to get some sleep with your phone ringing off the hook with all of your new found cousins asking to hold a little cash!

Talk about the luck of the Irish! According to the Louisiana Lottery website, the Louisiana Lotto jackpot worth $550,000 was finally won Saturday, March 16th by someone who bought a winning ticket in Shreveport. Imagine waking up on St. Patrick's Day morning to find out you were $550,000 richer!

The ticket was purchased at the Circle K located at 1304 Kings Hwy and the winning numbers were 1, 10, 16, 22, 23, and 40, so check your ticket if you purchased one at that location!

The last winning Louisiana Lotto jackpot was won on January 30, 2019, and was worth $800,000. Since then, the jackpot has been getting bigger with each successive drawing without a big winner. Drawings for the Louisiana Lotto jackpot are held on Wednesdays and Saturdays each week.

There were several other winners Saturday night in the Louisiana Lotto drawing in addition to the $550,000 jackpot winner with 9 ticket holders winning $2,888, 547 tickets netted $49 in winnings and 7,651 tickets paid out $3 each.

Louisiana Lotto tickets are $1 each and the next drawing will be held Wednesday, March 20, 2019, with the jackpot starting at $250,000. Of course, the big Powerball jackpot worth an estimated $550,000,000 is also this Wednesday evening.
