Remember January 2020? That sweet time before COVID-19? We cheered on our LSU Tigers to a National Championship and later that month, the Kansas City Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl. Then things got twisted.

I'm sure the Chiefs' weren't able to celebrate like past winners because of the pandemic. Heck, it wasn't until about a month ago that they got their commemorative Super Bowl rings. I distinctly remember it because East Texas' own Patrick Mahomes got his ring, then turned around and gave his a girlfriend a ring. An engagement ring! So romantic!

But before we go any further, we have to take a moment to giggle a little bit at the fact that the Super Bowl rings were from Jostens... the same people who made our senior class rings in high school! They may make them every year. I don't know, I just think it's cute.

So who was the first member of the Chiefs to put their ring up for auction? That would be Mike Weber, a member of the 2019 practice squad. Weber was a former Ohio State running back and according to TMZ Sports, he could get up to six figures for it on Goldin Auctions.

Sure, that's some nice money, but why would a professional football player need cash? Here's the LSU connection. Ready for it? Weber was released in May in favor of former LSU football star and first round draft pick Clyde Edwards-Helaire.

Now I'm not saying he needs money or why, but it sure is the first thing that came to mind. And it's 2020. And it's a dog eat dog world out there. I hope you make bank buddy!
