If you regularly travel in North Bossier Parish, you've probably already had your fill of detours with the ongoing construction of the new Barksdale Access Interchange at I-20, but for some, things are about to get even more challenging.

Beginning this coming Monday, February 28, the Bossier Parish Police Jury has advised us that the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development is closing a bridge on LA Hwy. 528 over Clarke Bayou for repairs.

As the map below illustrates, this bridge is located 2.3 miles east of LA Hwy 157.

Weather permitting, the closure is scheduled to last for 21 days.

The Bossier Parish Police Jury also advises, that during this closure, for fire, EMS, and school board, address ranges 100-1300 Hwy. 528 can be accessed from Hwy 157. Address ranges 1301-2000 Hwy. 528 will need to be accessed from Webster Parish.

While these closures and detours are somewhat inconvenient, hats off to the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development for addressing the much overdue issues of maintenance and repair of the Bossier Parish roadways.
