If there's one thing that a Texan will fist-fight you over, it's BBQ pride.  As in:  "Texas has the best BBQ in the world, and I'll fight anyone who says otherwise!"  That's not a direct quote, but if you challenge a Lone Star native over the superiority of Texas BBQ - I promise you'll hear some iteration of that phrase.  So, when a new Texas transplant who's coming from South Africa by way of California says that he's going to throw the "Biggest BBQ in Texas History," all true Texans become suspicious (and that's putting it mildly).

That's the claim from the big chief of TESLA and Space-X, Elon Musk.  It's no secret that Musk likes Texas, the industrial icon is constructing a massive "Giga-factory" just southeast of Austin - and to celebrate its completion, the company is ready to throw the BBQ to end all BBQ's. According to the official press release, it was originally slated for April 1st - but now, the event has been rescheduled to April the 7th to make sure you don't think this is a big joke.

When TESLA's Giga-factory was completed in Berlin, Germany last year, the company marked the occasion with an event they called "Giga Fest."  The fair-like atmosphere was heavy with celebrations of the areas culture and food, so I expect the same for this huge Texas-style party on April 7th.  Instead of bratwurst and "oom-pa" music, we'll have brisket and country music.

Where the Texas and Berlin celebrations will differ most likely is the attendance.  The party in Germany was limited to just 5,000 people due to COVID-19 restrictions, but Texas has no restrictions or mandates that would limit the amount of folks who show up to this shindig.  Really, it looks like that might all depend on how much food TESLA is willing to pay for!  The last thing you want is 30,000 hungry folks to show up and you've only got 3 briskets and a rack of ribs!
