Billy Baldwin is happy for niece Hailey Baldwin and Justin Bieber, but he has some thoughts on their decision to tie the knot so fast.

Speaking with Us Weekly about the newlyweds, Billy, 56, said he loves the couple, and wanted "to see them get married," but wished they hadn't rushed it. He suggested it may have "been better" if they waited, but he understands why they didn't.

"I love them as a couple and I would've loved to see them get married if they waited a couple more years," Billy told Us. "Maybe that would have been better, but they didn't want to wait because they're both devout in their faith and ... that wasn't the right fit for them so that's really none of my business."

Billy also told the outlet that he gave a little advice to Baldwin and Bieber before they married. He told us he advised them to hold off on having kids, saying they should focus on having "fun."

"I've said to them, 'I hope you don't jump right in and start having two and three and four kids right away," he said. "I just hope that they have the next few years together where they can rampage and just globe trot and just tear it up and have fun."

Bieber, 25, and Baldwin got engaged in July 2018. The proposal took place in the Bahamas weeks after they got back together. The couple first dated from 2015 to 2016. They tied the knot at a court house in New York City in September 2018.
