Spring is almost here and it'll be time to break out of our homes and get tons of fresh fruit and veggies at the Bossier City Farmers' Market.

Heading to the market on Saturday mornings was pretty much my favorite thing to do during the pandemic. In fact, all of those fresh fruits and veggies probably kept me from gaining another 'quarantine 15!' Clearly, I wasn't alone because a lot of people were venturing out for fresh produce as we were all forced to embrace cooking at home until things opened up a bit. I hope this is one healthy activity that I stick with!

The Bossier City Farmers' Market will open for the 2023 season on Saturday, April 1st, and every Saturday thereafter from 9 am - 1 pm through November. The weekly event takes place in the south parking lot of Pierre Bossier Mall with over 75 local vendors, live music, food trucks, free parking, free admission, and it's even pet-friendly so I can bring my oversized lap dog with me. To see the constantly updated vendors list, join the Bossier City Farmers Market Facebook page.

Some of my favorite stops include the produce stands (obviously), Geaux Meals by Gracie, who sells pans of pre-cooked entrees for easy, convenient meal prepping, the homemade dog treat booth, the booth with the street tacos, and there's another one that sells handmade wire jewelry with crystals. Yes, I'm a hippie at heart!

I meet some of the best people while strolling with my buddy, Cyrus. Stop and say hi!
