Life’s short, eat more tacos.

Saturday, May 7th, 2022, the Bossier City Night Market is celebrating Cinco de Mayo! In addition to 50,000+ twinkle lights, over 175 vendors selling unique wares, live music, and ten food trucks, there will be mas tacos and fireworks at 9 pm!

The event rolls from 4 - 9 pm with free admission and free parking in the south parking lot at Pierre Bossier Mall. While the Bossier Night Market is always a pet-friendly event, you might want to reconsider bringing your furbaby this time because of the fireworks.

Some of my favorite stops include Geaux Meals by Gracie, which sells pans of pre-cooked entrees for easy, convenient meal prepping, the homemade dog treat booth, the booth with the street tacos and tamales, and there's another one that sells handmade wire jewelry with crystals. While crystals might not be your thing, maybe some of the following will whet your appetite. Here's what organizer Chris Graham of InstaGrahamEvents says you can expect:

Market Goods, Unique Food, Free Samples, Shopping, 12+ Local Boutiques, Dozens of CINCO DE MAYO Vendors, TACOS, Crafts, Farmers Market Goods, Jewelry, Art, Jams, Gifts, Man Made Soap, Jelly, Salsa, Clothing, Roasted Corn, Vintage, Ceramics, Tamales, Accessories, Shrimp and Gator on a Stick, Spice and Seasoning Blends, 10+ Food Trucks, Metal and Stone Craft, Wreaths, Hunting and Fishing, Kettle Corn, Furniture, Paintings, Retail, Skin Care, Baked Goods, Candy, Handcrafted Soap, CBD, Candles, Crochet, Fresh Squeezed Lemonade, Home Decor, Honey, Coffee, Pizza, Hot Dogs, Hamburgers, Donuts, Filipino Food, Venezuelan Cuisine, BBQ, Asian, Cajun Cuisine, Free Kids Activities, Face Painting, Balloons, Street Performers, Pony Rides, & Much More!

50+ Pictures of Shreveport's Abandoned Historic Fairgrounds Field

Before you know it, Shreveport's historic Fairgrounds Field will be will be exactly that - history. Once the legal wrangling is done, the proverbial endangered-bat-guano will hit the fan and the once glorious Ratchet-City cathedral to baseball will be demolished and gone.

Before it "bats" its final inning, let's take a final look at the glory that once was. I warn you though, it's kind of like seeing that super-hot girl from high school 20 years later - and time has not been kind.

These awesome pictures were provided by urban photographer extraordinaire Ron DeBello.
