I was okay with the idea of raising gas prices by a few cents in order to gain revenue to fix the roads here in Louisiana, but don't you dare touch my phone bill. Which is exactly what just happend.

According to news sources, if the governor agrees to the new tax raise that the Louisiana Legislators passed then our cell phone bills will have a 4.25-cent monthly tax raise.

Apparently this is supposed to raise funds for Telecommunications for the Deaf. This is something they have done to landlines before, but it is new to mobile devices.

According to news sources, prepaid phones will not be affected, but if the governor passes this new tax it will take effect starting this October.
