Congressman John Fleming, M.D. will be hosting a Congressional Field Hearing on Giant Salvinia, an invasive aquatic fern that has rapidly proliferated throughout waterways in the Ark-La-Tex.  Native to Brazil, Giant Salvinia clogs waterways, blocks sunlight, and depletes oxygen levels, resulting in severe impacts on commercial and recreational activities.

This hearing will take place at LSUS on Monday, June 27 at 10am. Afterwards, he will tour Caddo Lake to explore the effects of Giant Salvinia firsthand.
