Crawfish prices are beginning to dip just a bit at several local hot spots. I do want you to know, I check these prices each week by calling all of these places to see what they are charging.

The cheapest price we could find on March 15th for live crawfish is at Beaux's Sport and Goods in Haughton where the price has finally dropped below $3 a pound at $2.95. Several spots are now selling live crawfish for $3.50 a pound.

Prices for boiled crawfish are at $5.99 at a majority of the watering holes, but Farmer's Seafood has now dropped the price to $5.39 a pound. Larry P's Boiling Pot is charging $5.50 a pound this week.

Remember these prices will continue to fall as soon as the weather warms up.  Last year, the prices for boiled crawfish dipped below $4.00 a pound at most places. I did find some live crawfish at Brookshires in Haughton and Benton are selling for $2.99 a pound. Brookshires in Benton is also advertising boiled crawfish for $3.99 a pound. But that is a special and you might call ahead to see if you can still get some.

Best advice to crawfish connoisseurs is to call first before heading off to buy some bugs.  You want to make sure these hot spots are not sold out.
