Drag Queen Controversy Brewing in Ruston
The HBO series called We're Here is coming to Ruston tonight! The six-part series goes to small towns like Ruston, Louisiana to recruit and train drag queens for a one night only performance. That performance is taking place tonight, Tuesday, February 25, 2020, at the Sundown Tavern. The doors open at 6:30 and the show will start at 7 pm.
According to MyArkLaMiss, We're Here brings in celebrity drag queens, Bob the Drag, Shangela, and Eureka will mentor their new drag daughters teaching them how to step outside of their comfort zones. Locals say this is a moment to embrace something different. The cast should be familiar to you if you ever watched RuPaul’s Drag Race because they were former contestants. However, it appears that not everyone is happy about this in Ruston.
The unscripted show is filming tonight and the series will premiere on HBO April 23, 2020.
