New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees has high praise for backup QB Teddy Bridgewater.

The injured signal caller says the Saints offense kicked it up to another level against Tampa Bay.

The New Orleans Saints defeated the visiting Tampa Bay Buccaneers 31-24 to improve to 4-1 and sit atop the NFC South standings. Bridgewater passed for 314 yards and four touchdowns to keep Bridgewater unbeaten in three starts for the Saints this season.

The Saints take on Jacksonville at noon on Sunday.

Brees returned to practice this week. He participated in individual drills and stretching. He says he's optimistic he can return before the initial six- to eight-week timeline he was given.

"As far as the timetable for getting back though, they say six-to-eight weeks. I think I can beat that, but I’m just gonna take it one week at a time and see how things go," Brees said during his weekly appearance on WWL Radio in New Orleans.
