I read recently that nearly half of Americans have already started Christmas shopping online because of boredom. Maybe the fall market coming up this Sunday is our chance to catch up!

I'll be the first to admit, I haven't even thought about Christmas and Christmas shopping yet. Maybe it's because I'm still trying to wrap my head around all things COVID-19 or maybe it's because I don't know how I'm going to finance it this year. One thing I do know is that the majority of the Americans referenced in the above study were shopping online. Sure, they could have been shopping local vendors, but chances are they were cyber-shopping big box stores or Amazon. However, if there's one thing we've learned this year, its that we need to support local business!

This Sunday, October 4th, local vendors will be set up for a special fall market at the Olde Oaks clubhouse from 11 am - 4 pm and promises over 40 sellers onsite including Man Made Soap, Mama’s Kettle Corn, Mitchell Studios, Cajun Axe Throwing, Dough Boys Pizza, Jammin Ya-Ya’s Artisan Treats, Valivia’s Boutique, Bob Jensen Art, Pen Craftsmanship, Bandit’s Pupcakez, Shredder Custom Baits, Jobean Creative, Lotto Treasures, Glory and Grace Splendid Tea Co., Namaste Nerd, All Things Beautiful, Bayou Sass Creations, LLC, Gradys BBQ, Gnome Hollow Candle and Soap Company, De’Nic Pet Collection, Rustic Charm and Bubbly Designs, Tubbs By Grubbs, Face Painting by Becky, Custom Created 4U by Tamara, Textured Elf, Bearberry Farm, Simsonite Creations LLC, Rushn 2 Airbrushn, Louisiana Candle Co LLC, Leggings Lady, Tupperware by Grubbs, Author Elizabeth Godfrey, and Nailed It! by Kelly.

Admission is free for this family-friendly event. If you've never been to Olde Oaks, put this address in your GPS: 60 Golf Club Drive, Haughton, LA 71037. Email oldeoaksmarket@gmail.com if you have any questions or click here for the Facebook event page.
