Just days before our LSU Fighting Tigers Football team was set to head to Gainesville, FL for their matchup this Saturday, October 17, 2020, officials at the University of Florida have officially put their football program on pause due to an outbreak of COVID-19. Authorities say five new cases of coronavirus have cropped up and out of an abundance of caution, they've put their program on hold. While Saturday's game hasn't been cancelled yet, it's certainly questionable.

University of Florida officials have been in contact with the player's families, the Texas A&M football program, whom they played last Saturday, LSU, the SEC, and health experts. According to ESPN, the plan is to reevaluate the situation tomorrow before making an official call.

What makes this entire sad situation so ironic is that Florida Head Coach Dan Mullen had recently made remarks about wanting to 'pack the swamp' this Saturday for the game versus LSU with 90,000 fans in the stands. I'm no expert, but my guess is that isn't going to happen... at least not with 90,000 people on hand.

However, we're not even going to try and make a prediction as to what is going to happen going forward. This is 2020 and I don't have a crystal ball. Geaux Tigers!
