Food Bank and Churches Step up to Feed Children

The Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana has stepped in to supply food to children after school districts decided to stop the program.

Sack lunches designed for grab and go will be served to youngsters each weekday between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Children must be present to get the food.

These locations will be open beginning on Tuesday:

• Will of God, 315 E. Carroll Street, Coushatta.
• Praise Temple, 4725 Greenwood Road, Shreveport.

These locations will open beginning on Wednesday:

• Common Ground, 6806 Southern Avenue, Shreveport.
• Paradise Baptist Church, 1706 Hollywood Avenue, Shreveport.
• Church of the Highlands, 520 Olive Street, Shreveport.
• St. Rest Baptist Church, 611 East Union Street, Minden.
• Looking to Jesus, 316 LA-1, Oil City (only open M, W, and F).

Grab and go meals are also being handed out at Christian Services on Levy Street. They are open from 8am to 10am for breakfast and noon to 2pm for lunch.
