Giant “Mood Ring” Emoticon in Germany [VIDEO]

Polls and surveys have been used in years past to tell what the mood of a city or people might be. On a smaller scale, remember mood rings? I LOVED my mood ring! However, with the advent of emoticons ie :) or :( or my favorite :P and facial recognition technology the answer to what the mood of the city is the Fühlometer at Lindau Island in Germany. 

I find it kind of funny that a technology that was developed to be a security measure to protect from identity theft is being used as a giant smiley face.
