Governor Edwards To Hold COVID-19 Press Conference Today

Governor John Bel Edwards will address the state today as COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations are once again on the rise in Louisiana.

State health officials are calling this the third surge of the virus. Yesterday, the Louisiana Department of Health reported 6,754 new cases of COVID-19.  They went on to say that this is the highest single-day total of new cases since the pandemic started.

More than 1,700 Louisiana residents are currently hospitalized with COVID and we haven't seen totals like that since April.
