Today, Governor John Bel Edwards is expected to make a major COVID-19 update in regards to Louisiana's response to the coronavirus pandemic. According to the Edwards' Facebook page, "Today at 2:30 pm, Gov. Edwards will make an announcement about Louisiana’s response to COVID-19. As of July 10, there were 74,636 confirmed cases in Louisiana, with 3,272 deaths."

While nothing is known for certain, many statewide experts and insiders believe the Governor will add additional restrictions to his emergency order. During recent press conferences, John Bel has said he is considering numerous options to curb the spread of the coronavirus, but has not specifically said what options were on the table.

Over the past two weeks, cases and hospitalizations have continued to rise across the state where as previously mass spread was contained to a few specific regions. You can watch the Governor's update below beginning at 2:30 pm. We will provide a full breakdown of any major announcements once the Governor finishes his remarks.
