Although Gwen Stefani is not returning for Season 18 The Voice, her boyfriend and The Voice coach Blake Shelton thinks that fans haven't seen the last of her on the popular singing show.

"I get what has to happen," the country singer told Entertainment Tonight at a post-CMA Awards press conference. "We're not seeing the last of Gwen on that show by any means. I wouldn't say we've seen the last of anybody who's ever been on that show. They've said from the beginning that once somebody's a coach on The Voice, they're always a part of the family."

Shelton is the last remaining coach that has been on the show for all seventeen seasons of the show. As for if he has any pull to bring her back onto the show, he doesn't think so, but he has made his position very clear.  "I don't know that I have any power with that, but I definitely have a loud voice when it comes to [bringing Stefani back]," he shared. "I make it known that I don't ever want her to leave."

Although he misses having Stefani on the show, he understands that the show "needs to keep reinventing itself."  "The only way to do that is to change the coaches out every season a little bit -- as long as it's not me," he joked. "[Stefani] still has to finish up her Vegas residency, so she does have other commitments... We just try to keep it new, but also rotate people's favorites in and out," he concluded.

Shelton's comments about Stefani leaving the show come after Stefani herself shared that she wanted to continue coaching. The pop singer will be replaced by Nick Jonas for Season 18 of the show. "If I had a say, Nick Jonas would not be on The Voice, it would be Gwen Stefani," she recently said during a concert.
