I can't even begin to tell you how bummed I am that no coach's chairs were turned last night for our homegrown Shreveport, LA area talent on The Voice!

Ever since I heard that one of my local faves was going to be on the show, I haven't missed a minute of the blind auditions, which means I've been staying up past my bedtime a lot for their special two-hour shows. And finally, finally, after three episodes without a peep about our hometown hero, we finally got to see him perform.

Wondering who I'm talking about? Of course, you are! I'm referring to Alex Troegel from Ole Whiskey Revival and the Al Boogie Trio. If you've never seen Ole Whiskey Revival play, you're missing out. Think honky tonk southern rock outlaw country. I absolutely love watching these guys play and try to catch their shows whenever I can. Alex Troegel aka Al Boogie, is their lead singer, from Mansfield, LA.

One of the things I've always liked about The Voice is that if you make it on to the show, it's because you're talented. They don't air the embarrassing auditions like they do on American Idol. Sadly, none of the coach's chairs turned in time for Alex to choose a team and move on to the next stage of the competition on the show. As you can probably guess, I think they got it wrong, but then again, I'm biased. I've seen Alex completely own the stage many times before. If you missed it last night, here's his audition.

Alex is the 37-year-old son of Bill and Sherri Troegel. He grew up in Mansfield, went to LSU Shreveport, and is married to Stacey Lynn Brown Troegel. He's also a father, a dog dad, a good musician, an entertainer, and by all accounts, a good guy.

What does the future hold for Alex? Hopefully, everything he's dreamt of for his family and more! Hit me up using the 'chat' function in our free app or shoot me an email at erin.bristol@townsquaremedia.com. Good luck, Alex! This is just a minor setback, He'll open another door for you!
