What is the internet good for if not to resurface old, embarrassing videos?

Following reports that Hailey Baldwin and Justin Bieber are engaged, a clip of the now-couple meeting for the first time has begun to make the rounds online.

To set the scene, this was back in 2009, and is about as awkward as you would expect for two barely-teens just beginning to notice the opposite sex. The footage looks like it was taken at some sort of meet-and-greet for Bieber ― then sporting his My World 2.0-era hair swoop ― ahead of a Today show appearance, and Baldwin's dad, actor and apparent Bieber stan Stephen Baldwin, was there at 5 a.m. with the rest of the "Sorry" singer's legions of young fans.

"We've been enjoying your music," Stephen says after introducing Hailey, who seems so deeply shy about the whole encounter that she can barely look Bieber in the eye. Afterward, Bieber gushes about meeting ole Steve, who for some reason gave him a skateboarding video he produced.

The moment was also captured on Vine, and Bieber retweeted it in 2016, writing "haha. Amazing." Hopefully his proposal was a bit more eloquent.

Bieber and Baldwin, who briefly dated between 2015 and 2016 before rekindling their romance in June, reportedly got engaged in the Bahamas over the weekend. Neither have confirmed the news, but Baldwin has been seen wearing a massive diamond ring, and her dad appeared to tweet (and subsequently delete) his congratulations.
